Comment:Meister Schicker had a great variety of silhouettes in his French Model bows.He makes the most of Snakewood, a notoriously difficult-to-work material and crafts a traditionally shaped French bow from snakewood.Overall the weight is higher in a snakewood bow, but the balance has been thoughtfully worked by using a snakewood frog. These bows are exceptionally articulate. I truly wish that Horst Schicker were still making bows.It was a pleasure to have his fine snakewood and pernambuco bass bows at Lemur.Toni Buffa Call for In-Home, In-Studio Bow Trial.800-246-2277.
This French model bow has a truly great pernambuco stick. It's firm and flawless - great in the spiccato. It's a soloists dream come true. Interesting detail on the frog mortice so you have loads of tightening room on the frog. We found it very playable for a variety of players. Handmade silver/ebony button, silver linings, single pearl eye. Beautiful workmanship. Medium dark brown octagon stick. Red-brown and salt hair. Just nice in every way, this bow.
