"Seven Double Bass Duets" were written in 1996 by Dave Anderson. Mvt. 1 = Kibbles & Kibitz; Mvt. 2 = Parade of the Politically Prudent Pigs; Mvt. 3 = Rush Hour; Mvt. 4 = Schgweik Fahrt; Mvt. 5 = Lament; Mvt. 6 = Blew Cheeze; Mvt. 7 = Gustav’s 11 O’Clock Dance. The composer writes: "Bass players are always searching for new material. As far as duets go, we have raided the Bach 2 part inventions, Bartok violin duos, and many other sources from many musical periods. Modern composers have written some wonderful material, but bassist’s solo and chamber repertoire is still very small compared to all other string instruments. My bass teacher and mentor, Frank Proto, has written some excellent bass duets as well as clever transcriptions of superb repertoire.
