This is not a small person's bass. The string length is close to 44 inches. Upper and lower bouts are a larger 3/4 size, but the long string length makes it a 7/8 size at about 74 inches tall. The tuning machines look original and are individual old brass machines with wooden pegs. The grain in the neck is just perfect and there are extra fancy external linings. This bass is likely German made. It has a flat back, wider upper bout (think cello shoulder) not a sloping shoulder and highly arched German style vaulting, "Physician's Choice" was owned by a doctor, hence the stage name we've given him.
