How ONYX Delivers

Let's begin with the fundamental frequencies that support the notes you play. The OM12 follows in the footsteps of the most respected speakers used in studio monitors and home stereo. The 12" driver is mounted into a carefully designed vented enclosure which extends and flattens response down to the lowest notes you play.

You'll be surprised how fat the low end sounds when the frequency response is flat. We're not talking about the mid-bass frequencies so often over-emphasized in other systems, but the real fundamentals. You may even need to dial the bass control down depending on the room acoustics.

The midrange frequencies that define the pitch, rhythm and nuance of bass notes need to be spread around to every listener. That can't be done with a 10" or larger driver alone or coupled with a tweeter. The OM12 has midrange driver that is carefully matched to the woofer to produce flat response and wide dispersion.

Selecting the right speaker is important. The OM12 divides the workload between the woofer and midrange with a high power-handling two-pole crossover, the quality of which is unprecedented in a musical instrument speaker system.
