Composer: Grieg, E.
Title: SONATA in A minor, Op. 36
Concert Key: A minor
Tuning: Solo (bass reads in G minor, piano plays in E minor)
Other: Bass and piano (originally for cello and piano). Three-movement work.
Highest pitch is the G harmonic, three octaves above the open G string. The
highest "stopped pitch" is Ab near the end of the fingerboard. Frequent use of bass,
tenor and treble clefs. Editor suggests a cut in the third movement, the most lengthy
of the three.
