BASTOCK 272 - Gotz or Goetz Upright Bass Features:
Sloped shoulders for easy play;
Extra ebony linings on neck block;
Extra detailing on back of scroll near bottom;
The top is nicely thinned at edges with thicker
linings;
Bass was most likely a better quality instrument
at the time of its making;
Bass is in excellent condition showing one
patched crack on upper bout rib, and one triangle shaped crack in lower bout
near block. Both are nicely repaired.
Bass has extension machine, an older Horst
design.

This
3/4 sized bass is marked "Gotz" and is most likely a Wilfer Bass
made in Germany. It was a better quality instrument at the time of its making.
Bass is in excellent condition, with
Horst Extension machine, dark golden amber color.
