Other: Double bass and piano. This is actually two pairs of short pieces that are
often played together as a set of four. Praludium and Scherzo were originally
published as Op. 32, No. 1 and 2 in 1908. Intermezzo and Tarantella were originally
published as Op. 9, No. 1 and 2 in 1903. In Pradudium the highest pitch is G two
octaves above the open G string. In Scherzo the highest pitch is A near the end of
the fingerboard on the G string. In Intermezzo the highest pitch is G two octaves
above the open G string. In Tarantella the highest pitch is G three octaves above
the open G string. Following that note is a two-octave chromatic descent in eighth
notes.
