The Italian bel canto style was a major force in Karr's training which is evident in his unique interpretation of Bottesini's lyrical music. Karr demonstrates a freedom of expression which is still heard in 19th century Italian opera. When Ermanno Ferrari joins Karr in this recording, it is difficult to tell them apart. This CD truly captures the spirit and lyrical passions of Bottesini's music.
