Gary Karr, Karel Roessingh, Alex Olson, and Joey Smith For many years, Ray Brown and I had spoken seriously about doing a CD together, but our schedules never clicked. Ray once said to me, "If you felt the blues, you would be a dynamite jazz player!" I never learned to play the blues, but I always loved jazz and listened a lot to jazz vocalists who influenced my playing on this CD.
