Björn
Stoll earned his master luthier status from the violin making school in
Markneukirchen. He comes from a long line of bass makers in the Musikwinkle
area of Germany. His father worked with Rubner during their golden era,
and continues, in his retirement years, to do color and finish work on
the Stoll Basses. Since opening his own shop, Bjorn Stoll has collaborated
with Lemur Music to bring his fine basses to market.
Stoll's
basses have a powerful sound, owing to the strong yet flexible tops that
are carefully graduated in the traditional style. Basses are meticulously
antiqued and have a beautiful hand-applied varnish. Stoll's Workshop is
where tradition and great value come together.

7/8 size Gamba Model. Herr Stoll won an artist grant and used the time and money to develop this beautiful master-quality double bass. The upper bout is small enough to promote easy access to the upper register. The lower bout is, simply stated, large. The combination creates an outstanding combination of payability and sound, and the shape is most pleasing to the eye.

3/4 size Double Bass with Violin Corners
Classic German violin shape, this bass is a great choice for university studies, combo work, or any place the budget fits. Stoll's basses have a powerful but tender sound, owing to the strong yet flexible tops. They are meticulously antiqued and have a beautiful hand-applied varnish.
This versatile 5 string double bass is made of all solid wood and has violin corners. The dimensions are not especially large making this an excellent 5 string bass for conservatory. It is also one of the few that could be used in a jazz situation.
