Frog: French style ebony frog with goldfish slide, parisiene eye with gold ring. Engraved gold ferrule and lining, matches engraving on button.

Button: Fancy engraved gold barrel button, divided with ebony, goldfish end dot.

Wrap: Leather grip over gold wire.

Specs: 146.2 grams, 72.5cm overall length, 70cm tip to nip length.

Playing Characteristic: The bow has robust playability. The weight of 146.2gr (mass) produces a rich orchestral volume, and the gold quality stick performs like a pro.

Comment: What an incredibly beautiful bass bow this is. It was made about 1991, just two years after the fall of the Berlin Wall when trade resumed with the Markneukirchen musical instrument makers. It was a very exciting time, with quite a lot of built up demand for master quality bows. Family Dolling has always had great wood from five generations of bow makers, so Bernd celebrated the renewed opportunity to offer his bows to the West by making a series of these engraved bows. We have seen quite a few of them over the years. It's always a pleasure to handle them and offer them to our Arco clients.
